Now use a pretreatment stain remover at a small quantity. Spray it and wait for a minute. In microfiber couches scrubbing works the best. So to make the solution work on the fibres, take a scrubber or a cloth and scrub well on the spot.
Then take hot water. That’s the main thing to need. You also can add some steam cleaning solution, if you want. You need to check the instruction given in the solution label to know the mixing ratio.
Remove the tank from the steam cleaner. Fill it with the mixture. Put the tank back and snap. Let the machine warm-up. Once it is done, run upholstery-attachment. Doing so you’ll notice a reaction between the chemical and the fibre.
Now select upholstery mode on the steam cleaner. Remove the hose from the holder of the steam cleaner. Put on the brush-attachment. Now you are all set to turn the cleaner on.
The next step is to pass the hose on the couch. Slide the tool forward, all sides of where the cushions were. Check for spots. Pull the hose backwards in your desired areas. It’ll make the machine to release more cleaner in those areas.
Do not overdo, or you’ll get water stains on the couch. Leave the button and hose. Then remove the water. To do that run the machine without water to get rid of all moisture.
You can remove the marks of the attachments. Just use a towel and brush over it.
2. Use a carpet-shampooer

- You should clean the loose-dirt before doing any cleaning method. Similarly here, clear up any dust, food particle or pet hairs. You can use a vacuum.
- Double-check the manufacturer code. Only proceed if it shows “W” or “S-W”.
- Pour hot water into the carpet shampooer. Then add 3 OZ. carpet detergent.
- Switch the recovery-tank off, sliding the front-panel up. Snap the hose-connector of upholstery wand-attachment in the front-panel of the recovery-tank.
- Now you can turn the shampooer on. You need to press the nozzle into the couch. Then pull the trigger. Move the upholstery attachment nozzle toward you. No need to rush, do it slowly. Don’t let the nozzle streak the fabric. Then leave the trigger, pass the nozzle removing the shampoo.
- Don’t forget the corners, as those are the most important parts. Put the nozzle on creases, shampoo them. Then let go of the trigger and make the nozzle run to remove the shampoo properly.
- Repeat the process on the places having heavy dirt. Try different passing patterns in those areas.
Shampooing your carpet will give you a cleaner sofa. It’ll clean moulds, newly formed mildews too. Moreover, it’ll give you a sweet fragrance after cleaning. But do not overdo. You don’t want your couch to bleed-dye or to damage the fabric. Just do it maximum twice.
You can clean your couch by following these steps. But you should try not to take the features of microfibers, like stain resistance and ability to repel diets for granted. It can get your carpet in trouble. If stains become too old, it’s really hard to get rid of them. Then you have to take help of chemicals. And chemicals won’t do any good to the couch. Dry it completely after a clean. If you neglect that, the spongy couch will let moulds and mildews grow. And they are bothersome. Sometimes it’s impossible to get off.
